Cost Controller

We are currently seeking a Cost Controller for our client’s mining operation in Voisey’s Bay, NL. This is a fixed 1-year contract position. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 40-hour work week, working at the St John’s office (currently working from home).

The Cost Controller will have the responsibility for providing cost control and financial control support for the Voisey's Bay MineExpansion Project. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing and forecasting project costs, as well as developing, preparing, and collecting cost data for monthly progress reports and overall status reports to the management team for review.


  • 5+years of cost control experience, preferably in a project environment on heavy industrial or mining projects
  • Strong knowledge of engineering controls, cost control, project accounting and project reporting.
  • Good working knowledge of Prism and Prism change management would be considered an asset.
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment, effective communicator, and problem-solving skills. Excellent analytical skills and attention detail.
  • Continuous improvement approach to getting things done and a track record of looking for efficiencies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel including familiarity with handling multi source data with pivot tables.
  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all staff levels within the workplace.


  • Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Accounting or Business.
  • One of CA, PMP, P.Eng., CGA, CMA, or CPA designations are preferred.
