iROC Launch: In Field Support

We are hiring (2) Underground Mining Supervisors to assist in the rollout of the Integrated Remote Operations Centre (iROC) for our client’s Garson and Copper Cliff mine sites. This includes providing in field 1:1 training and a coaching component to demonstrate and provide additional layer of guidance for Operators and Front-Line Supervisors specific to iROC technology, processes and routines. We are looking to hire (2) Front-Line Underground iROC support Coordinators to assist in the integration rollout.  

This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is experienced in underground mining supervision, has the ability to provide constructive coaching and feedback and is willing to support the iROC project in our community for 4–6-week intervals throughout the year.

Accountabilities:

  • In-field coaching with Operators specific to interaction points and routines integrated with iROC Operational Leads
  • In-field coaching with Operators specific to effective use iROC technology available (real-time equipment status capture application)
  • In-field coaching with Front-Line Supervisors specific to interaction points and routines integrated with iROC Operational Lead
  • In-field coaching with Front-Line Supervisors specific to iROC produced reports and available data
  • In-field coaching with Front-Line Supervisors specific to iROC interaction points, routines and technology expected of Operators
  • Review iROC reports for Operator and Supervisor engagement performance and follow up with individuals during 1:1 coaching session for improvement
  • Review iROC reports for equipment status application data assessing quality of entries and follow up with individuals during 1:1 coaching session for improvement
  • Interact with iROC Operational Lead throughout the shift to gain feedback on adoption and engagement with Front-Line Supervisors and Operators
  • Feedback to iROC Site Deployment Lead on deployment opportunities
  • Submit end of shift report indicating interaction points and level of adoption of Front-Line Supervisors and Operators (template to be provided)

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Leadership experience in underground mine operation preferred
  • Previous training experience, including but not limited to underground trainer, peer trainer, in class and/or hands on training experience
  • Knowledge of integrated operations planning and scheduling best practices and systems. Underground mining, scheduling, underground mine design, mining engineering, mine geology, maintenance knowledge is considered an asset
  • Strong management principles/strategies and skills
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Understanding of iROC Project
  • Strong Communication Skills, both Written & Oral
  • Good interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to solve problems and think proactively
  • Personal commitment to safety and risk management

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Technology or Engineering (Mining)

Sudbury, Ontario
Working Hours
Dayshift (10.5hrs/day) at specific launch sites integrated with iROC deployment schedule: June 5th - July 11th, September 25th - October 31st, November 6th - December 12th
