Mining Engineer-Project Manager-Senior

- Provide mining engineering and design services for underground mine studies, such as scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, detailed design, and NI 43-101 technical reports
- Coordinate mining engineering projects with the mining team and other engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, etc.
- Prepare and oversee preparation of mining engineering drawings
- Prepare mining equipment specifications and assist with mining equipment procurement
- Prepare CAPEX and OPEX cost estimates
- Manage the mining component of large projects
- Design mine infrastructures, ventilation systems, backfill systems and mining services
- Schedule staff assignments within the department
- Collaborate with other offices for project and task assignments
- Mentor mining engineering staff
- Actively supporting business development activities through participation in conferences, direct business development activities and strategic client relationship management
- Prepare and contribute to proposals and assist with business development process
- Author and contribute to study reports
- Manage the execution of multiple, concurrent studies/projects to meet the agreed objectives
- Maintain consistent delivery of high-quality technical studies (active planning, coordinating and managing)
- Lead marketing and business development for the mining sector by seeking out new opportunities through networking, referrals and market research
- Develop a healthy opportunity pipeline for study work in the region
- Manage study resource levels and ensure that staffing requirements are communicated
- Provide specialist technical input, leadership and management for projects

Qualifications
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Mining or Geological Engineering from a recognized University
- Minimum of 20 years of underground mining experience in operations, engineering and/or project evaluation
- Member of PEO or the possibility to become a member of a professional association for engineers
- Previously worked as study manager, area manager or engineering manager and project manager
- Functional proficiency with underground mining design and planning software packages such as Deswik, Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac, or Minesight
- Operational experience with underground mining, cut & fill, bulk mining (VRM), sub-level block caving and block caving
- Experience in mine equipment selection, capital cost and operating cost estimates
- Understanding of the various components required to make a mine a successful operation (processing, tailings, infrastructure)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and oral
- Asset: Functionable in a second language (French or Spanish)
- A willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
- Good understanding of NI 43-101, JORC and SK 1300 technical reports
