Project Risk Advisor

We are currently seeking a Project Risk Advisors for our mining Client in St John's Newfoundland.

 

Requirements

·      Assist in promoting an active health and safety culture and ensuring safety is integrated into the line organization of both the project team and contractors' workforce; 

·      Assist and lead in implementing our health and safety management systems and contribute to its continuous enhancement through development and implementation of lessons learned; 

·      Provide administrative support as required; 

·      Develop and facilitate health and safety training programs; 

·      Prepare reports on health and safety utilizing project HSE tools to collect and analyze data; 

·      Assist and lead the administration and design of proactive safety awareness programs and initiatives; 

·      Promote effective communication and dissemination of relevant health and safety information across the project team; 

·      Interface with field staff and support project site work by providing advice and assistance for problem solving of health and safety issues: 

·      Assist with developing and participating in the inspection and audits of site activities, contractor HSE programs and internal programs; 

·      Assist and lead the development and implementation of project safety plans and programs; 

·      Participate in the review and development of various project risk assessments tools/processes including job hazard analysis, field level risk analysis, etc; 

·      Support project team with the coordination of incident investigations; document and supervise preventative and corrective action. 

·      Provide support and guidance to project team to ensure alignment with regulatory and company requirements; 

·      Participate and lead various safety related meetings and forums with both project and contractor personnel 

·      Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

·      Post-secondary education in occupational safety and health or a similar discipline combined with a minimum 5 years of large project experience; 

·      Must be Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP); 

·      Must have experience with enterprise risk, control management, facilitation, reporting

·      Understanding of worker safety standards and their applications; 

·      Strong verbal and written communication skills; 

·      Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel,PowerPoint...etc); 

·      Must be able to work in a team environment; 

·      Creative problem-solving ability; 

·      Outward-facing with good interpersonal skills; 

·      Self-motivated with good organizational capability;
