310T Truck and Coach Technician - (Heavy-duty equipment such as gravel trucks, plow trucks, winter maintenance attachments, loaders, graders, sweepers, mowers, backhoes, etc) Must hold a valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician trade certificate
Overview of the Role:
The 310T Certified Truck and Coach Technician(s) will work directly with the Mechanical Superintendent/Supervisor or their designate on a day-to-day basis to maintain and upkeep all vehicles including trucks and heavy equipment by executing expertise in the servicing and repairing of our Client’s highway maintenance fleet and complying with provincial requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Working with the mechanical team to ensure company vehicles are maintained and upkept to ensure compliance with provincial requirements and CVOR Regulations;
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicles repairs (braking systems, test steering, check/change transmission and oil, suspensions, clutches, gas regulating components, repair engines, etc…);
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform equipment repairs;
• Arrange and obtain inspections/approvals of all major repairs before vehicle is released for fleet use;
• Monitor and track time for repairs for cost tracking by accurately filling out time card;
• Giving an accurate abbreviated description of repairs on the Work Order forms;
• Determine and report any additional maintenance, repairs, and/or parts that are necessary in completing repairs on vehicles to ensure optimal operating capabilities in fleet;
• Ongoing communication with all co-workers, management, clients, major stakeholders and subcontractors to maintain a positive and healthy working relationship;
• Fostering a positive, collaborative, and safe work environment;
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Licensed Truck & Coach Mechanic (310T)/ Heavy Duty Certification
• Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence;
• Preferable Grade 12 education (diploma);
• Knowledge and experience in Preventative Maintenance Programs;
• Good knowledge of trade related worksite safety;
• Proven work experience related to heavy-duty equipment such as gravel trucks, plow trucks, winter maintenance attachments, loaders, graders, sweepers, mowers, backhoes, etc…
Working Conditions:
This position requires the incumbent to work both indoors in a shop environment and outdoors exposed to the elements. Employee will also be required to be willing to work overtime when the work assignments require them to.
Must hold a valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician trade certificate
Must be legally able to work in Canada as work visas are not offered at this time.
