Accounts Payable/Payroll Support Specialist

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable/Payroll Support Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and capturing payroll data. Additionally, the ideal candidate will maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal teams.

  • Process high volumes of vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents
  • Verify approvals and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Assist with payroll processing, including data entry, verification, and coordination with the payroll team
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers, cheques, and other payment methods
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or billing issues
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and explanations
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting team when required

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
  • Experience assisting with payroll processes is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
