Engineering Supervisor
Reporting to the Superintendent, Engineering, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will lead the Underground Engineering team, aligning and integrating departmental objectives to maximize and optimize operational productivity and profitability. You will also develop and execute plans to ensure a smooth transition to operations. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting the Client’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Client provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of Technicians, Engineers and Engineers-in-Training;
- Provide technical support across multiple disciplines, including Surveying, Drill & Blast, Planning, Mine Design, Ventilation and Project Management;
- Develop and maintain operational and procedural frameworks to ensure standardization and quality of deliverables;
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity;
- Prepare and deliver KPI reports on project development and production performance;
- Coordinate and review mine planning activities, including Weekly plans and 3-month rolling forecasts;
- Liaise with the Long Range Planning team to ensure site-level plans align with long-term objectives and help communicate the overall vision to maintain alignment across teams;
- Provide relief coverage for Engineers under their supervision, performing required fieldwork and office tasks as needed;
- Promote Health & Safety leadership by hosting regular departmental H&S meetings, managing incident reports and follow-up actions, and conducting workplace inspections to ensure compliance and foster a strong safety culture;
- Lead HR-related activities including annual evaluations and development plans, and participate in the recruitment process.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering;
- 6+ years of experience in mining operations;
- 1 year of experience in a leadership role (e.g. supervisor or team leader);
- Member of a Canadian engineering association and eligible for NAPEG membership;
- Experience in project start-up and operational readiness is considered an asset;
- Strong working knowledge of Deswik;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
