Job Title:
Machine Operator – Manufacturing of Steel Mining Products
Schedule – Monday to Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am
Wage Range - $26.30-$33/hour plus $1 shift differential pay per hour
Main Purpose of the Job:
Primary duties include general production labour activities under the direction of a mentor employee that include product assembly and various machine operation actions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Setup and change product materials in accordance with the production plan
• Continuously maintain or exceed production efficiency goals
• Operate or tend automatic or multi-purpose machines including wire looms to produce metal parts and metal products such as wire screening, fencing, tinware, metal baskets, racks, hooks, metal tubing and similar articles
• Fit and assemble components using hand and power tools
• Clean, polish, file or otherwise finish products
• Check products for quality and other specifications
• May clean and lubricate machinery
• Work in accordance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Other duties may be assigned accordingly
Qualifications:
• Secondary School Diploma or higher
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Aptitude for Math, problem solving, computer and mechanics
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work and communicate well with others
• Proficiency with hand tools
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
Working Conditions:
• Machine Operators almost always work indoors, in a warehouse setting, work outdoors on rare occasions to work in special working conditions.
• Dusty working environment
• Work near co-workers, but usually have a few feet of space
• Wear gloves, hard hats or other protective attire
