Senior Electrical Engineer
Reporting to the Supervisor of Electrical Engineering Services, the Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading electrical design projects from concept to complete preparation of construction documents and specifications. This includes executing, coordinating, and expediting a succession of different engineering activities, as part of capital expenditure projects. In your role, you will establish project strategy, review drawings, and ensure elements of design and detailing adhere to jurisdictional requirements while delivering excellent technical, financial, and social solutions for our clients.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Technical and Documentation
- Leads the preparation and review of complex technical calculations.
- Oversees, reviews, approves, performs and finalizes detailed designs and technical drawings, including power distribution single-line diagrams, MCC/VFD and control schematics, grounding/bonding, lighting, cable schedules, and installation packages, in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and client standards.
- Leads site visits for data collection, and assessments and to provide recommendations for remedial action. Ensures that build quality is as per design.
- Leads and provides oversight for QAQC (quality assurance quality control) checks as required.
- Completes and reviews project documentation and technical report development.
- Assigns, outlines and prioritizes work for engineers or technologists according to project demands.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of related electrical engineering design experience is required.
- A degree in electrical engineering or equitant is required.
- Registered with PEO, and holds a Professional Engineering License (P.Eng), or equivalent in Canada.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Microstation, or similar tools, for electrical system layout and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, practices, and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local building codes.
- Strong industrial experience, with experience in surface and underground mining.
- Knowledge of mining-related processes a definite asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites applications.
- Strong analytical skills.

Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed in a regular office environment.
- Travel to client sites is required on occasion to attend meetings and to conduct field visits.

Total Compensation
The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $ 120,000 CAD per annum, based on the responsibilities of the role, internal equity, and current market benchmarks. The final offer will be determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications; their placement within our internal compensation structure; and relevant geographic cost of living considerations, where applicable. This range represents a realistic and good faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this role.
