Surveyor (Mining Surface Plants)

Responsibilities:  Site Surveyor –

Location:  Cochrane Ontario – Fly in/out Camp role

Schedule:  4/3 – Monday to Thursday 12 hour shifts

Job Responsibilities:

• Managing the site infrastructure file

• Topographic surveys (month end & as builts), layouts & grading

• Participate in supervision discussions to plan daily tasks/look ahead

• Review project drawings and designs ensuring adherence to specifications and standards

• Coordinate with CAD tech to ensure sufficient data is provided to reflect project requirements

• Work closely with the Project Managers & Supervision to provide real-time answers

• Record field data accurately with a high level of detail

• Map plotting

• Conceptual Drawings

• Locates with cable locator

• Field measurements

• Drone surveys

• As-built survey

• Layout surveys

• Volume calculations

Requirements:

• High level of dependability with technical competence and attention to detail

• Perform basic mathematic calculations (Example: slopes, areas, volumes, etc.)

• Ability to set priorities, timelines, and manage workloads while meeting stated goals, working independently/ in a team environment.

• Able to problem solve, execute sound critical thinking and judgement.

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the construction and drafting/survey industry

• Class G License with clean abstract

Experience

· 5 plus years field experience.

· Must be a leader on the job site/willing to take on supervisor training and duties.

· Knowledge of advanced surveying practices

· Experience with GNSS and Heavy equipment GNSS surveying systems.

· Understands payment items and requirements

· Complete stockpile survey and calculate the volume in Civil 3D.

· Complete As built survey and put into create as built style pdf drawing.

· Open dwg drawings (Civil 3D) and be able to output .xml/.dxf design files into the field book.

· Read drawings (PDF) with the ability to create design in the field book. Or get the coordinates/offsets from paper.

· Capable of establishing control on site. (local or UTM)

Computer Skills Required:

· Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook)·

· Proficient with Civil 3D

o Volumes

o Profiles and Cross Sections

o Creating Linework and surfaces

o Importing/Exporting points and linework

o Alignments and chainage

o Creating point groups and separate/organize by shot type and/or date (lift data)
