Underground Mechanical Engineering Technician:

 

We have a need for a full time underground mechanical engineering technician, servicing and maintaining our Mining Client’s loading equipment and plant in the Timmins and Sudbury area. 

 

The incumbent must be fit to work underground, willing to travel, have a clean criminal record and drivers abstract, be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening, have small tools.  A company vehicle will be provided to travel to and from the office and mine sites.

 

Hourly rate offered -$40-$60 per hour based on experience.

About the role:

 

Our Client’s emulsion units are advanced systems designed to load blast holes with explosive chemicals. As an Underground Mechanical Technician, you’ll be part of a highly skilled team responsible for maintaining and ensuring the reliability of these charge-up systems.

 

What you will be doing

  • Maintain and repair both fixed and mobile equipment across various sites.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems related to plant operations.
  • Support operational reliability and safety standards.

 

What you will bring

  • High School Diploma
  • Mechanical Engineering Technician Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining mobile and fixed plant equipment;
  • Familiarity with similar systems and processes (preferred);
  • Proven ability to lead and train small teams (preferred);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of operational best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Mining industry experience (preferred);
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Willingness to travel across Canada
  • Demonstrated expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting.
